Participant la mai multe festivaluri internationale, în grupajul de la Cannes 2010, „Clopotul“ face figura aparte, în sensul ca este o încercare de comedie dramatica, pe un fond cultural traditional. Un moment crucial al existentei, nunta, nu poate fi conceput fara ca, la cununia religioasa, mirii sa beneficieze de un clopot la biserica din satul lor. Un tânar întreprinzator încearca sa rezolve problema. Convocându-l pe Bontas, cantorul de la biserica, merg la Timisoara, la Mitropolie, pentru a obtine aprobarea si sprijinul necesare. Ajung la un „Birou turnator“, de unde procura clopotul nou-nout. Comedia are nuante satirice, la adresa obiceiului de a calatori cu ploconul la subsuoara, nelipsita fiind damigeana cu tuica.
Vârtos, prea vârtos pe alocuri, „Clopotul“ preia unele rezolvari în maniera instrumentata de un Geo Saizescu în dipticul cu Pacala, mai mult din partea a doua, a întoarcerii personajului. “
